Friday, Jul. 12, 2002 - 10:50 p.m. Friday night Heat breaks Stereo on the patio Bliss Yeah, I know- I didn�t follow the 5-7-5 haiku rules. So shoot me. Here is the breakdown: I was home by 3:20. Watered part of the garden, and then took a shower. Lease was home by 4:15. (Next hour: censored) Codeman said he would pick up supper for us. We ordered pizza from the Godfather�s restaurant across the street from his workplace. He calls at 6:15, says he has to work over. Crap! Cold pizza for supper tonight! J-Rod stops by. He has dropped about $100 on DVD�s. Only we have seen three of the five. He leaves �The Royal Tenenbaums� and �Shallow Hal� for our viewing. Have to make time for these in the next few days� Cold pizza and great music: Steely Dan-�Aja� The Call- �The best of the Mercury Years� Girlfriend-�The New Me� C-60-�This Perfect Day� Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers-�Hard Promises� Joan Jett-�The Hits� The Hang Ups- �So We Go� We are nothing if not eccentric, musically�. Watching the bats circle overhead. Hummingbird moths, sipping nectar from our impatience next to the house. Telling old stories about our past, both with J-Rod and to each other. Just a great evening. This is what makes summer worth looking forwards to Just think: in less than 5 months, I will have to worry about snow falling and messing up my weekend. But not tonight��
