Wednesday, Oct. 08, 2003 - 6:08 p.m. Received a piece of junk mail from a porn video company today. Stop laughing. I get all kinds of this stuff. Herbal Viagr-a. Male potency vitamin formulas. And porn videos. I blame one of two sources- Maxim (Codeman�s, but bought in my name) or Spin magazine. I know this, because both of them have my middle name on the mailing address, and most of the risqu� stuff has it , too. Anyway�.. The reason why I mentioned the porn video junk mail was because of the special offer on the front of the envelope :Free pair of long-range binoculars with the purchase of $50 or more in new videos!� Think about that for a minute- free binoculars for people who like looking at other people having sex in the first place. Sounds like a natural promotion to me��. No, I will not be receiving my free pair of binoculars. Don�t need any new videos at the present time�.. What a great baseball game last night. Except for the final score, if you are a Cubs fan (like me). All those triples and homer runs. Especially Sammy Sosa�s, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, and being sown by two runs. Oh well- it is a best-out-of-seven series. Loosing the first game, even at home, is not the end of their chances. If they loose tonight? With the best young pitcher in the major leagues on the mound (Mark Prior)? Deep ca-ca. That�s where they will find themselves. Down 0-2, with the next 3 games to be played in Florida. I will be cheering for the Cubs to put them away early tonight. After all, it is already a Chicago voting tradition- Vote early, vote often every election day. Be nice if they could carry that over to the ball diamond��
