Friday, Mar. 26, 2004 - 5:18 p.m. The cookout went fine. Everyone had plenty to eat, and nobody bitched about how I cooked it (for once). I only ate one chicken breast, and one bratwurst (with a very small amount of side dish stuff). I didn�t want to have to go into the doctor�s office with a bulging belly. Well, not bulging more than normal anyway. I left work with enough time to do my treadmill, take a shower, and rets a few minutes before I had to be there. I checked my b.p. here at home, and it read around 145/86 each time I took it. Got to the office, climbed the three flights of stairs, walked down the 2 block long hallway to the receptionist, and reported in. I had only sat down for about 15 seconds when they called my name. Can you guess how high my blood pressure was at this time? Yeah, higher though. Try 160/98. Crazy what a little extra workout does to the heart. Oh yeah- the b.p. wasn�t taken until AFTER I went through that torture that they call �weighing in�. Fuckers� So, after a winter of overtime, missing time on the treadmill, eating to richly, blah blah blah�I now �weigh in� at 250.3 pounds. Double fuck. My clothes still fit as well as ever. I haven�t noticed a large increase in the size of my spare tire (still a 225/75R16, I think). So where I picked up the extra 5 pound since my last visit is hard to figure. Dr. Smith didn�t seem concerned about it . I guess he expects a little of this if someone is forced onto a scale in March. And I am still 6� 3� tall (if I haven�t started shrinking too mush yet. I can�t remember the last time I measured myself) Check back in 6 months. I think I will get the weight back down to around 240. Hopefully� The Illini play Big Bad Duke tonight in the round of sweet sixteen. Since they have already beat a higher seeded team than themselves, they should come out and play free and loose. Nobody (and I mean NOBODY) in the national press is giving them a chance of beating the #1 seeded Blue Devils. I even heard a talking head on ESPN say, �Now that Cincinnati has lost to the weak Big Ten champions from Illinois, Dukes path to the final four gets MUCH EASIER�. One of the sports columnist in the Chicago Tribune came up with the best comparable of this game should be for the Illini that I have heard. He said that since they have made it further than they were supposed to, they are now like a gambler in a casino, playing with the house�s money. If they lose, it�s not that big a deal. And if they stay hot, they keep rolling along with no expectations. I like that. Considering that this team starts two juniors and three sophomores, the future could only get better. But that don�t mean I am not hoping for an upset win tonight�. One last thing: I was atCorrupt4evah�s D-land page, and I noticed something she had linked called �see my Yafro moblog�. Not having any idea of what it was (aside from figuring it was another journal, since �blog� is in the name), I clicked on over. There, she has posted a bunch of snapshots taken by her webcamera. I clicked on the Home link, and found out what the site is all about. After blowing about an hour here, I think it is better described as Internet crack. It is amazing how many people out there are exhibitionists, for one thing. If you don�t want to load a page and get treated to multiple shots of some guy�s penis, out of focus and looking for all the world like it was taken with a Polaroid� camera, make sure you click on the �Block adult� spot at the top of the page, right hand corner. Don�t say I didn�t warn you. Otherwise, what people post here is just one big connect the dots of family, hobbies, nature shots, and whatnot. Lots of whatnot, if you don�t block the adult links. I might start one of these journals, if only to have another outlet for my digital output. I don�t know anything about costs, or how many photos you can upload. If I find this out (and if I post any photos there), I will let you know�. GO ILLINI!
