Saturday, Jul. 24, 2004 - 9:08 p.m. Kinda strange, attending such an important event without knowing the parties involved. Not bad, mind you- just a little odd. The church where the event took place was one of those really old venues, full of highly varnished dark oak and stained glass. Everyone was dressed to the 9�s. There might have been 3 or 4 other men in attendance that wasn�t wearing at least a dress shirt and tie, if not a suit. Hey, at least my shirt had a collar. Lease bought a dress for this occasion, and looked beautiful as always. Sicne we were dressed up (for us, anyway), she asked me to take a few photos before we left. Using a tripod and the camera�s timer, I took about 10 shots. Upon further review? We don�t really like any of them that much. The delay on the timer caused us to wait until our faces ended up into somewhat twisted end results . I think so, anyway. For some reason, we didn�t have the best smiles on our faces, either. There is something to be said for being able to look through the viewfinder while photographing people. That way, you can wait until just the right moment to take the shot. Oh well� here is the one we decided we like the best:
Cold weather for July. The high today was only in the lower 70�s, and a harsh wind was blowing out of the northwest at over 15 mph all day. If it were January, we would probably be in the middle of a blizzard right now. Instead, we just have a spotty rain falling every so often, adding to the dark conditions. Tomorrow, we were planning on taking the hillbilly boat out for a little fish. The weather is supposed to be a carbon copy of today, so that doesn�t look likely now. Might be a good day to kick back and watch a movie or two instead� Oh yeah- the 5 people I knew at the wedding? Lease (of course), Lease�s sister Jules (co-worker with the bride), and Cheryl from Lease�s workplace (we were there for the grooms side of the family) and the groom�s mother, Cindy (another coworker of Lease). At least our assigned seats at the formal reception (minus Cindy) were at the same table�
