Wellthats about fucked up( times 2).

Not that. Although this 12-year-olds tongue is pretty bizarre.

No, I am referring to work.

Two major changes were passed on to us this morning, all straight out of the big headquarters in Bismarck.

The first one falls under the about time department: the lead/lead worker position at our storage was finally posted for bid. That means anyone who has worked at least 6 months at the storage and has either passed the test for supervisor (nothing to it- fill in your name, have no major disciplinary problems and 6 months of employment? Youll get an A) or sends in their application for the test during the bid period can apply.

That includes just about everyone in the building. I think Dunny might not get his grade, due to , oh, I dont know , being FIRED (and mistakenly rehired) about a year ago. But everyone else presently employed at our yard?

Qualified for an interview.

Oh yeah- thats the other thing: you have to be presently working at the Mohall storage. If not, you cant even apply for the job.

I think that is a good thing. That way, they cant just hire some political flunky off of the street for the job.

Im hoping so, anyway.

The other major thing?

Some time-study wonk came up with and idea that will save the state of North Dakota millions of dollars.

What idea is that, you might ask?

Combining our 9 districts (right now) into 5 regions.

Get rid of 4 engineers, 4 supervising technicians, 4 etc.

But thats it. Not buildings will be closed. In the 4 districts changed (Bismarck will still stay the same, and get an even bigger piece of the pie. Surprised?), all buildings will stay open. All peons will keep their jobs.

This is just a way to dump a bunch of highly paid specialists.

Nothing less, nothing more.

How will it affect the Mohall storage?

Glad you asked.

Our present traveling mechanic, Joe D., will probably not be that anymore for our storage.

That is because the wonk that drew the new boundaries must have used congressional redistricting maps to draw the lines on each new area. Three of his old counties will remain in the area he lives in.

The other two (The B.A.C.E. Lake headquarters and us)?

Shit out of luck.

The state doesnt allow traveling mechanics to work in different districts (opps.I meant regions..sorry!)

So logic tells us that means he wont be working at our storage anymore.

This is totally unacceptable. He is, by far, the best mechanic we have had in my 21 years with the NDDOT. The age of our fleet requires that we have a competent mechanic (at the least) to keep it running. And Joe D. is far more than just competent

So.

Some group of pencil pushers sits around, brainstorming on ways to save money, without once taking into account what ramifications their actions might have on the non-political employees of the NDDOT.

Or was their real job just to get rid of a bunch of high paying political appointees from the last administration that they cant get to leave?

Doesnt matter.

In the process of playing more political games, they totally screw up how we keep out old trucks running.

Typical, from this group of incompetents.

I swear7 more years, and I am taking the early out retirement.

I dont care if that means I have to say, Thank you for shopping at Wallyworld part time until I reach 65.

I think I can deal with less money+ less stress much better than more money+ any political bullshit any day.

More funny photos, found on the IRC pages recently

Dude! You have to cut back on the catnip, know what I mean?

If the hunter (maybe a presidential candidate?) in this photograph did notice the buck above him and took a shot? Both would end up on the ground, right?

Cracks me up anyway.

One last thing

I found this website through my weekly Langalist newsletter.

This is, by far, the easiest way to organize any and all digital photographs on your computer, and it is FREE!

You download the program, open it, and it catalogs any digital photo file you have stored on your computer. This makes it very easy to edit, find, or attach and send any photo you have. It might not sound like much (and I only have it to help me find lost files), but it could really make your computer life easier if you have trouble finding photos you might have misplaced.

Just click on the link, and read what they have posted on their page.

I think this is a great free tool for anyone who takes digital photos.

So?

Thats why I posted it here..
