A few more photos from B.A.C.E. Lake, last Fridays trip with nephew Tyler

The shoreline of B.A.C.E. Lake is littered with carcasses from fish that died during the hot summer months. The saddest skeletal remains I have come across this fall are of Tiger Muskie, a colder-water fish that didnt fare well in the many days of 90 plus heat we suffered through most of the summer:

This one has been under foot all fall- it was at the waters edge at my most productive stretch of White Bass territory. I had told Tyler about it on the way down to the spot, but I couldnt find it when we arrived.

The water had risen about 10 from the week before, and oak leaves had clogged the wind-blown shoreline. I gave up looking for it- fishing was the reason we were there, after all.

Just before we moved to another spot, Tyler found it. This 40+ inch long specimen had enough teeth in its mouth to leave you sadly in need of stitches, if it decided to take a bite out of you.

One more view:

Reminds me of a shark's chompers- plenty of tiny new teeth behind the ones that do all the damage. I don't know if they move into place for lost teeth (like a shark's), but if I live my entire life without having one clamp down on me, that would be fine...
