Let Go - "Let Go" (2005 - The Militia Group) ...Somewhat 70's-sounding, good rock album...

Frozen salt?...plus- approved time off for the Cableco party

This would have been a better shot if I hadn't pointed the camera into the sun...

The piles next to my truck are composed of salt that had frozen in the beds of our trucks. One for every truck that was running last Thursday evening- 20+ in all. A common problem on very cold nights (and days, too), salt that is carried in the bed of a truck without being used during a long period of time will have snow (blown from either plow or strong winds) fall on it, which will cause a little bit of melting to take place. If the salt isn't disturbed for a long time, the salt will then refreeze, leaving you with a 7 ton hunk of useless salt. Just getting it out of the truck bed can be a labor-intensive job. Add to that a air temperature near 0, and you can see why this is a major aggravation.

The salt can be used, once it has been broken up by either a loader bucket or being rolled over by a heavy piece of equipment. Probably not done until the weather warms up some, though...

About time to leave for Leases office call it a Holiday, so we dont offend anyone party.

We havent gone to many of these. Usually, someone on my shift has already put in for approved time off (usually in mid-summer, and usually only 2 guys on my shift), but nobody had when she found out what day this party was being held.

The party is here in town, too. Since many of Cabelcos employees still work out of Mohall, they decided to throw them a bone this year. Its in the nice hotel only a mile of so from our house. Even so, we decided to get one of the reduced rate rooms for the night.

Call it a winter mini-getaway. Considering how much bad weather we have had the past few weeks, it will be a welcome change.

Oh yeah- 40% chance of light snow tonight and tomorrow. And I dont have to be available for work until (at the earliest) 3 pm tomorrow.

Missing a callout (legally) would be an added bonus

"Say what? You think I'm a homo-phobic buttmunch? That's not very funny, Mr. Bono!"

Add your favorite made-up caption, if you like. I just imagine Jesse Helms saying something to that effect myself....
