Wednesday, Jan. 04, 2006 - 9:39 p.m. Large frames filled with "stuff", side porch:
The one on the top right is a recording industry award given to an executive at Columbia who signed the four acts who sold these gold records that year(1994). About the only one you might recognize is Jeff Buckley's "Grace"( a great artist who died a early death, drowing in the Mississippi River in Memphis, I believe). The other three are Corrosion of Conformity, Deone Farris, and Sponge (almost went to see them in concert last summer, but bailed out due to it being a Tuesday. Such is life as a old man...) All 4 cds and their cover art are included. That was from an estate sale (the executive died maybe?) on Ebay... Bottom right is filled with old postcards of the Mohall area. That took a little bit of flea market and on-line auction work to fill. I have another one mounted behind the spot I shot this photo from, too. The one on the left is the collage I finally got around to filling with family photos (all printed in black and white) on New Years Day. We bought the frame at a rummage sale (still in it's wrapper, with a pricetag from Bed Bath and Whatever for $39.50 attached). I think we gave $3 for it. It sat on this side porch for 7 months, taunting me to get my act together and fill it up. Might be why the previous owner never cracked opened the cellophane- too daunting a task to figure out what to fill the 29 openings. Not totaly happy with the end results, but we did manage to get at least one photograph of everyone from both Lease and my side of the family included...
