Spring (is it really spring?) blizzard.

We (as the employees of the NDDOT highway department) were called in at 10pm, with the snow not yet falling. I brought the Minolta with me to take a few quick shots from the cab of my truck.

The calm before the storm- taken a few minutes before the first flakes fell.

Everything changed just an hour later. No, that's not the north pole- its the sign for a local barber shop. Notice how the snow is falling horizontally- 40 mph winds will do that.

Taken at 2:30 am- the heaviest snow was falling at that time, making white-out conditions once you left the safety of the city. The only good thing was the timing- the roads were basically deserted.

4 am- refueling in the storage.

Sunrise (around 5:30 am)- the deep blue colors have not been enhanced. Notice the snow already "walking" across the road. It's still doing this right now (5 pm).

I have to return to work at 7 pm. Until the winds die down, we have to keep pushing the snow off of the road.

The last gasp of winter. Unwanted, but soon to depart (the highs are supposed to be in the 50's by Friday, so it won't be sticking around for very long).
