A quickie (time is short)..

That title will probably get me some unwanted Google hits..

Mac lost again tonight. The score was 11-0, but the game was much worse than that.

Yesterday was Senior Skip Day. Five of the seniors (all but Codeman), and one sophomore (?) skipped school, and then showed up for baseball practice. Codeman said that the coach went off on them, told them that they had let him down, and said none of them would play in todays game.

7 kids practiced last night. Codeman, the 3 juniors, and 3 of the sophomores.

Guess how many of those 7 started the game tonight.

Go on, guess.

3.

Not all 7 , like the coach told them yesterday. Three.

His Junior pet, another junior, and a sophomore.

About all you need to know about the coach, eh?

Am I glad to played so badly?

Not really. The whole team didnt hit (2 total hits), and played badly in the field.

Codeman got into the game in the bottom of the 4th, and played left field for 1 inning. He was on the on-deck circle when one last ground out ended the game.

Blah.

The 1+ hour drive to Flowerton wasnt a total waste.

I was able to give Codeman a container of Gatorade.

I had enough time to stop at one of the many greenhouses in Flowerton, and picked up a package of large, dark red-leafed cannas for my large pot by the garage. I also bought two geraniums for the old milk cans on the front porch.

Not a total waste..

Today was mower inspection day.

Many people spent many hours preparing the old tractors and mowers for this inspection. Paint was applied, damage was fixed, and everything was ready to go.

The inspector from London spent 30 minutes (tops) looking around, told us that we could fix the one dead-lined tractor, and left.

30 minutes!

I spent more time than that cleaning the breakroom, and he didnt even go in there..
