Let Go - "Let Go" (2005 - The Militia Group) ...Somewhat 70's-sounding, good rock album...

A day late.

AKA Stumped no more.

The lighter colored area to the left is the dead core area of our front boulevard ash tree, recently dropped by the city.

Another cross section view:

Another view, pulled back a bit:

These were all taken the day that the old Ash tree felt the bite of the city's chainsaws. The forester told me that they would be back in about a week to take the stump down to the ground.

A couple of days later, Lease mentioned that a cut from this stump would make a cool address marker for the house. I figured I could make the cut with my Poulan, either by making a slow circle cut or starting a cut, and adding a wedge to keep the cut section from dropping onto my chain (the diameter of the stump was about 36", making the cut tricky with only a 18" bar on my saw).

Didn't matter, though- when I pulled into the driveway that evening, the stump was gone. All that remained was a large pile of mulch-sized chunks.

I filled my wheelbarrow 3 times with these chips. All of my fruit trees, along with some shrubs and berry canes are now protected from this summer's weeds.

Now- if they would only plant the new ash tree they promised me before the weather turns too hot this summer....
