Thursday, May. 29, 2003 - 9:00 p.m.

Not enough hours in a day (again).plus- the management folks in London screw me (almost literally ) again

Tomorrow is Leases last day of work at the Cableco here in Mohall.

Starting next Monday, she will be commuting 35 minutes each way, 5 days a week, to Springpatch.

Yes, it sucks.

Neither of us wants this, but with the unemployment rate here running around 8%, good paying ( or any) jobs are few and far between. If Codeman were out of college instead of just starting this fall, she wouldnt be doing this.

For now, she will try to do the extra commute. I am hoping that ANY decent job that comes her way will convince her to take less pay. Until then, we will all just do the best we can.

Why am I harping on this sore subject again?

Because I have no time for a substantial entry tonight.

I had to take her car to Farm and Fleet after work tonight, to replace her two bald front tires (dont want her driving long distances with dangerous tires).

We had to run to the Mall to pick up a birthday present for our niece. After that, we ate a quick meal at our favorite Mexican restaurant near the mall, and went to Wally World to pick up supplies for the Last day of work in Mohall potluck at her workplace tomorrow.

Now that we are home, I am in the process of editing some photos that she took today. She picked up one of those picture frames with multiple openings to give to the employee who isnt making the transfer to Springpatch. Lease went around the building today, snapping photos of anyone she could catch off-guard.

I think the employee who ISNT taking the transfer should be throwing a party for all the rest of her unlucky former coworkers, but that is just my opinion..

A quick update on the employee who collapsed at work Tuesday:

He went to a specialist today, and was given a conditional clean bill of health. The doc thinks that he might have been dehydrated, and this caused him to pass out. When he fell, he struck his head on the side of his mower, causing his unconscious state. We he came to, he was ,naturally, disoriented.

Conditional, because he said that Foo couldnt operate any equipment or vehicles for 4 weeks.

The State, of course, wont let him come back under those conditions. They will probably make him visit one of their own doctors, too.

I hope they dont dick him around too much. He is his childrens only parent, and doesnt have many sick days he can burn, waiting to get the o.k. to return.

Stay tuned.

One last thing:

I received an email today, telling me that I would be receiving (in the mail) an order form to fill out for our yearly nut and bolt order.

I have until June 2 to finish it, and turn it in.

That would be Monday, two days from now.

I didnt receive the forms until around noon today. That gives me 1 days to process a 96 page , single typed list of individual nuts, bolts, screws, fasteners, chain, cable, o-rings, and other assorted crap, and do it for all 5 counties.

Did I mention that I havent had one of these orders to fill out for 27 months (yearly my ass!)

Did I mention that they didnt even tell me how much money I can spend (I spent over $3500 last time around)

Oh yeah- the last time I filled this order, I spent 2 weeks working on it. I finished it with a week to spare before I had to turn it in, too

BTW- the date stamped on the front of the contract (by the big shots in Springpatch) was February 15th!

That means the fine folks in London have had this contract , sitting in some remote corner of the office building, since that time. That was over 3 months ago!

Thanks, London!

Some days, I just LOVE my job..
